This date paste can be used in many desserts as a sweetener. I like to add a little on top of plain vegan yogurt for a not-too-sweet treat. You might even consider adding some toasted coconut and chocolate chips to create a yogurt parfait!

Cardamom Spiced Date Paste

Equipment

  • High-speed blender

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dates pitted
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 2 oz Light rum optional
  • ½ tsp Ground cardamom

Instructions

  • Place the dates and boiling water in a high-speed blender. Let sit for about 10 minutes so the dates can soften.
  • Add the rum if using and ground cardamom. Blend until smooth.
